This ted talk was about a guy named Akash Manoj who came up with a device called the Transcutaneous Spectral Analysis unit. He decided to come up with this device after losing his grandfather to a heart attack. This device would be able to detect silent heart attacks which kill over 8 million Americans a year. The device is used as a silicone patch around the wrist or placed near the chest it spots, isolates and tracks a heart attack biomarker if and when it reaches critical levels. This video directly relates to my field due to the fact that heart disease is the number one cause of death today. Early intervention is vital in saving lives.
